How do I add Collection Groups to my Shop Page?
Updated over a year ago

Collection Groups allow you to add tiers of collections to better organise your inventory, ensuring your customers can find exactly what they’re looking for.

Organise your main product categories and their various subgroups. For example, Women’s > Clothing > Dresses.

Our collection groups can go up to two tiers deep. See the example below.

  1. Click on the “Design” tab from the navigation bar at the top of the StoreLab Platform.

2. This will open into the Home Page editor. To get to the Shop Page, click on the dropdown menu underneath the navigation bar at the top and select “Shop”. Circled below.

3. Once in the Shop Builder, you can start adding your collections or collection groups

4. To add a collection group, click the “Add Collection Group” button within the left-hand shop page editor. Circled below.

What’s the difference between Collections & Collection Groups? Find out here.

Tip: Your collection groups should mimic the navigation and hierarchy of your website's collections. You should have a clear view of what main categories and subcategories you want to feature.

5. Add your Collection Group title into the text field on the left-hand editor and click the green “Add” button below. See the example below.

6. Your new Collection Group will show in the preview on the right-hand side.

7. Within your new Collection Group, you can either Add a Collection or another Collection Group. To add a new collection group click “Add Collection Group

Adding another collection group will create the second tier within this collection group.

8. Add the collection group title under “Group Name”.

For this example, we used “Men’s” as the primary collection group and “Clothing” as the secondary collection group.

9. Assign the Collection Group an image. Click the grey “Select new image” button within the left-hand shop page editor. Or pick an existing image from your media library below.

10. Once you’re happy with your Collection Group name and assigned image, click the green “Add” button in the bottom right-hand corner of the editor.

11. This will bring you inside your new Collection Group. From here, you can add collections, not collection groups. Click the “Add Collection” button at the bottom of the left-hand editor. Circled below.

12. A popup will appear for you to choose your collections from. Select your collection and click the green “Use Selected” button in the bottom right-hand corner of the popup.

13. Repeat steps 11-12 to add all collections you wish to add to your collection group. Your collections will appear in the preview on the right-hand side.

14. Once you’re happy with your collection group, click the green “save” button in the top right-hand side of the App builder.

15. To go back to your primary Collection Group, click the back arrow in the top left-hand corner of the App Builder. Circled below.

16. This will bring you back to the primary Collection Group, from here you can repeat steps 7-15 to add another collection group or singular collections.

17. After each addition, click the green “save” button in the top right-hand corner of the App Builder. Circled below.

18. Continue until you have added all your main collection groups and sub-collection groups. See the below example of a visually appealing and well-organised shop page.
